Outpatient Clinics:

St. Richard's Hospital Vascular Unit provides a vascular surgical service to the Chichester and Midhurst areas with an estimated population of 250,000. The unit also receives some referrals from bordering primary health care areas in Hampshire and West Sussex. 

The Vascular Unit has the following clinic sessions:

        St Richard's Hospital:

  •  Alternate Tuesday mornings (D Beattie)                                   

  •  Wednesday mornings (D Allen)

  •  Wednesday afternoons (H Hafez)

  •  Alternate Thursday mornings (D Beattie)

  •  Alternate Friday mornings (Aneurysm Clinic, H Hafez)

        Bognor Regis Hospital:

  •  Alternate Thursday mornings (D Beattie)

        Pulborough Barn House Surgery Clinics:

  •  Clinics have now started every third Friday morning (H Hafez, D Beattie)

 

        King Edward VII Hospital, Midhurst:

  •  Clinics have now ceased .

        St Richard's Hospital:

  •  All day Tuesday (D Allen)

  •  All day Wednesday (D Beattie)

  •  All day Thursday (H Hafez)

  •  Alternate Tuesday mornings (H Hafez)

  •  Alternate Monday mornings (rotating)

  •  Alternating Friday mornings (rotating)

 

Operating lists, day surgery:

        St Richard's Hospital:

  •  Every other Thursday afternoon (H Hafez)

  •  Every Wednesday afternoon (D Allen)

  •  Every other Friday afternoon (D Beattie)

         King Edward VII Hospital, Midhurst:

  •  Operating at King Edward VII has now ceased. 

 

Surgical Wards:

Long stay patients are primarily admitted to one of the three long stay surgical wards at St Richard's Hospital (Aldwick, Wittering and Middleton). For short stay cases, patients are admitted to Chilgrove ward at St Richard's.


Clinic booking status (December 2005): (Status is updated monthly)

The department has a "pool" referral handling system. Patients get the quickest appointment by any of the three consultants. It is  possible therefore that patients referred to a certain consultant are seen by another. Similarly, and for certain conditions, patients may undergo surgery by a consultant different from the one that booked the procedure in the first place
